Olena Edmeades
Olena Edmeades is an Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Senior International categorised Women Artistic Gymnast and Paris 24 Olympic Squad athlete..
Olena has recently represented Australia at the Gymnova Cup in Belgium, and travelled to the UK for a training camp.
Olena started gymnastics at the age of 5 and was selected onto her first Western Australian team at age 9 and her first Junior Australian team at age 12. She dedicates up to 28 hours a week training to develop her skills, consistency, and artistry, to compete gymnastics highest level as a Senior International.
Olena has just completed Year 12, and would like to study sports performance and occupational therapy as a profession with my commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.

Athlete Sponsorship - Travel Costs
Gymnastics Australia has limited funding to support athletes at Olena’s level and much of her travel, and that of her coach Dhana Antulov, is self funded.
The average costs for Olena to represent Australia at an international event is AUD$8,000.
In addition, Olena regularly travels to the AIS in Canberra and to the Australian National Championships, Oceana Championships and Australian National Clubs competition, which are required qualification and training events, with each trip costing approximately AUD$4,000.
